MICHE Company's Manga Design Process
We often hear from clients, 'I want to create a manga, but I don't know how to start.'
Here, we introduce the design process for
'Manga that is effective for explanation, sales, and advertising'
brought to you by MICHE Company.
Contact
Please contact us first!
-
Please contact us to let us know what you would like to turn into a manga.
-
After a meeting (online, in person, etc.), we will propose content that fits your budget (free of charge).
-
Once you place your order, we will conclude the contract.

Proposal
After conducting a detailed hearing during the meeting, we will submit a 'proposal' tailored to the client's objectives.
-
What do you want to communicate? Who do you want to communicate to?
-
We clarify the most important "goal" and then begin creating a proposal
-
Story, characters, situation, etc. We propose the direction of the manga and have you consider it
-
Clarifying the goal and determining the appropriate direction is important for creating an effective manga.
Plot Creation
The plot is the outline of the story.
-
We create an outline that describes where the characters are, who they are with, and what they are doing, based on the direction of the manga.
We set the characters and the environment and situation of the scene.
We refine the plot until it meets the client's goals, and then ask for your confirmation.
A good plot is the basis for an effective manga.

Scenario Creation
A scenario is a script.
-
The scenario is developed based on the plot.
-
While the scenario doesn’t include 'pictures,' we weave the characters’ actions and dialogue with words to create a clear image.
-
We refine the scenario until we can visualize what the client wants to convey, allowing for your confirmation.
Storyboard (rough draft) Creation
A storyboard is a rough outline of the frame layout, camera angles, dialogue, facial expressions, etc.
-
The manga style is finalized in the storyboard.
-
We will depict the characters' expressions and actions, clothing and hairstyles, the background settings such as rooms or buildings, and any objects involved.
-
Dialogue will be written inside speech bubbles.
-
While the dialogue can be revised in the final stages, the size and position of the speech bubbles become part of the artwork, so the amount of text will be confirmed in the storyboard.
-
Please consider that 'the essence of manga is in the storyboard,' and we ask for your thorough confirmation at this stage.

Artwork Creation
The manga artist will draw the artwork based on the storyboard.
-
In the artwork review, we primarily check for any discrepancies from the storyboard (significant changes at this stage will incur additional costs).
-
For color manga, you will review the coloring at this stage.
-
For black-and-white manga, you will review the finishing touches (such as tones and effects) at this stage.
-
Along with the artwork check, you will also review the typeset dialogue.
-
We will handle printing, binding, web posting, and other services according to your needs.
